The New Mexico Direct Caregivers Coalition is hosting two special dialogue sessions with Senator Michael Padilla (D-Albuquerque) and Representative Kelly Fajardo (R-Belen) regarding the unique challenges faced by individuals employed or wanting to be employed as direct caregivers.We encourage you to participate in one of these two-hour conversations to learn more about issues, resources and solutions in the areas of:
- Education, training and credentialing
- Jobs for caregivers
- Respect and recognition in the workplace
- Wages and benefits
- Information about the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, including Federal subsidies for health insurance
All are welcome! But we specifically want to hear from family/unpaid caregivers, professional/wage-earning caregivers serving the elderly and those with disabilities; caregiver advocates; and those receiving caregiver services and their families.
