The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is currently seeking an Outreach Education Coordinator.
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Museum Director, responsible for coordinating IPCC Outreach initiatives on a local, Pueblo Nation and state scale. Responsible for co-facilitating Pueblo House Education programs and adult tours with the Cultural Arts and Education Specialist.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Co-develops and implements year round education programming and activities including Pueblo House Programs including Summer and Winter Camps and adult tours with Cultural Arts and Education Specialist.
- Develops and leads Outreach programs designed to establish and maintain a mutually beneficial relationships between the IPCC Museum Department, Pueblo/other Tribal constituents and the neighboring urban communities of Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
- Coordinates IPCC year round dance performances in collaboration with Guest Relations staff.
- Recruits new Pueblo dance performers via outreach and consultation.
- Collaborates on the creation of new education programming and activities in association with exhibitions and Pueblo House programs and adult tours.
- Participates in planning docent training with Curator of Collections and Exhibitions and Volunteer and Membership Coordinator.
- Assists in development activities for exhibit and operations fundraising.
- Participates in meetings and conferences locally and nationally that are related to multi-cultural education, research tourism, sales and marketing.
- Supervises interns and program specific volunteers year round.
- Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED; three years experience related to museum work and inclusive of one year experience working with educators and students; one year experience with research and outreach background in multicultural settings; and museum experience on a paid or volunteer basis. Bachelor's Degree preferred in education or humanities. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Native American preference will be given.
